Once fed by the sacred flow of the Jordan River, the Dead Sea now shrinks by nearly four feet per year. More than 30% of its surface has vanished over the past five decades. What remains is a surreal landscape of salt chimneys, mushroom-like formations, sinkholes swallowing roads and ghost resorts crumbling into dust, once-thriving places now suspended in collapse.
